Dave Satre
  Leader and Trumpet

Dave Satre has been playing the trumpet for more years than he can remember, although this seems to be the result of a failing memory. Our research shows he must have started the instrument in the fourth grade and has been playing the damned thing for over 60 years.

He was lucky enough to grow up in a small Minnesota town (Lake Wobegon) that had an outstanding music program. Dave attended the Navy Music School and played in the Third Army band in Atlanta and the Seventh Division band in Korea during a three-year stint in the Army.

He played lead in the San Jose State jazz ensemble and was the principle trumpet of the university's symphonic band while earning a BA degree in music.

Dave taught instrumental music in local schools for many years, but is now retarded, er, retired and is pretty well focused on the trumpet and fluglehorn these days.
