Barbara Sigler  
  Bass Trombone  

Barbara plays the bass trombone in The Swing Solution, but she plays the tenor bone and the Euphonium as well. She's been a member of the band for around four years, but she's been playing the horn since the fourth grade. She counts her grammar school, junior high school, high school and junior college teachers as her greatest musical influences.

She's quite well known in Bay Area music circles, having played in a variety of big bands, including the Johnny Lampson Orchestra, the Adrian Davis Orchestra and the Bob Saal Orchestra. She also led her own band, Night Train.

Barbara has played bass bone with several orchestras, including the San Jose Wind Symphony, the Women's Philharmonic, Fremont Symphony, the California Pops Orchestra and subs with the Santa Cruz Symphony.

She has played in many pit orchestras in the area, including TheatreWorks, Foothill Music Theater and the San Jose Civic Light Opera. She also plays with the Menlo Brass Quintet, The Bay Bones group and does a lot of free lance work

Barbara is a retired medical social worker. She has Bachelor and Master's Degrees in Social Work with a minor in music.
